About the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The German women’s national team will wear the Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg logo on its jersey at the World Gymnastics Championships. Stuttgart’s city centre becomes a sports paradise for everyone.
It will be the sporting event of the year in Stuttgart: From 4 to 13 October, the world elite will compete at the 2019 Gymnastics World Championships in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. In mid-March, 22,000 spectators already experienced a successful “dress rehearsal” at the annual EnBW DTB Cup in the neighbouring Porsche Arena. As Martin Hettich, the sports-enthusiastic Chairman of the Board of Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg, announced at the start of this tournament, the cooperative bank will be intensively involved in the upcoming Gymnastics World Championship: As a jersey sponsor of the national women’s gymnastics team. “Our team has a great partner at its side in Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg in this important World Cup year,” said head coach Ulla Koch with pleasure. This is also proof of the good work and the positive development of the German gymnasts.
Ticket to Japan
After 1989 and 2007, it will be the third World Gymnastics Championships to be held in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart. This year, the championship will be of special importance as an immediate qualification for the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo. Ulla Koch and her gymnastics women have a clear goal when they compete with the Sparda-Bank BW logo on their jerseys: “We want to buy a ticket to Japan in Stuttgart”.
Complex supporting programme
Martin Hettich said he was proud that Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg could bring the team a little closer to the dream of the Olympics. But the company’s commitment to this important sporting event goes even further. During the World Championships week, the Stuttgart team and its guests will have plenty of opportunities to get involved in sports at several locations in the city centre. One of the highlights: 5000 pupils want to somersault at the same time on the Schlossplatz. On Stuttgart’s most beautiful square, the Stuttgart professional parcourer and stuntman Andy Haug will also be providing exciting action with a competition arena from 3 to 7 October. In the Theaterhaus on 11 and 12 October, show groups from the DTB clubs will present themselves alongside artists from all over the world at the glittering show “Salto Mondiale”. The World Cup competitions will of course be broadcast live on large screens in the city centre.
Tickets are in great demand
Martin Hettich emphasises that Sparda-Bank Baden-Württemberg will use its holistic commitment to promote the innovative presentation of gymnastics in Germany worldwide. The interest in this major event is huge: no more tickets are available for the qualification, the women’s team and all-around finals and both apparatus finals.
