The Golden State Warriors qualified for the finals after a clear 4-0 sweep against Portland Trail Blazers. This is the fifth time in a row that the Californian team has qualified – a feat no other team had achieved since the legendary Boston Celtics of the 1960s.
Golden State has won three of the last four titles and now wants to secure the crown for the fourth time. This time, they will have to defeat the Toronto Raptors, who will be in the franchise for the very first time in their history.

How the first games of the NBA Finals went
In game 1, however, this was not enough. Although the head chef put on 34 points, Golden State simply couldn’t stop Toronto. Pascal Siakam, in particular, made a strong final debut and led the Canadians to a 118-109 victory in the opening game.
In the second game, however, the Warriors made an impressive comeback and won 109-104 in Toronto, but had to cope with an injury from Klay Thompson. Despite this harsh shock, the Warriors still managed a narrow 106:105 victory. Thus the Dubs prevented the Raptors from celebrating their championship prematurely. In game 6 in Oakland, they now have the chance again to bag the first championship in franchise history.
